Promoting the Education of Tribal and Dalit Children through coaching centers in the Archdiocese of Raipur, Chhattisgarh India
Raipur Diocese Social Welfare Society is running 30 coaching centers in 3 districts of Chhattisgarh states with the help of KINDERMISSIONSWERK. These centers function for Dalit and tribal children in the rural areas of the Arch Diocese of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The coaching centers provide educational support, skill development, and extracurricular activities to empower these marginalized communities. Through this initiative, the Raipur Diocese Social Welfare Society aims to bridge the educational gap and create opportunities for a brighter future for these children. The coaching centers also focus on promoting gender equality and social inclusion among the students. Additionally, regular monitoring and evaluation are conducted to ensure the effectiveness of the programs and address any challenges faced by the children.
The Project Rural Coaching Center 2024-2025 sets the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (No.4) “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, emphasizing in completion of secondary education. Provide Quality education and secondary education of every child and also increasing self-determination. It also aims at creating profuse learning opportunities for students of secondary schools and teachers in SEM ( English, Maths and Moral science).

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT :
- To motivate parents for the better education of their children
- To improve English and mathematics of 850 poor children
- To improve the retention of children and decrease the number of dropouts
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT :
- Parents and villagers recognized the significance of educating their children. They actively take part in monitoring and encouraging students. This involvement has led to increased student motivation and academic success.
- Students' interest in learning mathematics and English has considerably increased as a result of teachers employing a variety of approaches and strategies.
- The coaching center saw a 9% increase in girl enrollments compared to last year, with 511 girls and 342 boys in attendance.
- 3 children who were dropped out of school have been enrolled.
- Good rapport developed between teachers, parents and villagers.
- Through Bal Sabha children share their experiences and perspectives on various topics that impact their lives. This platform allowed them to voice their concerns and advocate for change in their communities.
- Bal Sabha held rallies to raise awareness and mobilize community support for causes such as drug-free campaign, environmental conservation, education, and gender equality.
- On various occasions such as festivals, birthdays, and events, the children of Bal Sabha planted 362 saplings, of which 217 are now flourishing and contributing to the community's lovely green surroundings.
- Children aware of Child Rights.
- Appreciating the efforts of the coaching center in 6 centers, parents, village Sarpanch and political Leaders sponsored stationery, fans and cash amount of Rs 2000 for the children, thereby showing their support and motivation towards the children.
- Thakurpali and Sukhapali coaching center students won 1st to 5th positions in a panchayat and block level quiz competition with a cash prize of Rs. 25000.
