Summer Camp for senior coaching centre students

Summer Camp was conducted for Senior coaching centre students. There were 40 students came from different centre accompanied by teachers. The program was facilitated by Fr. Joseph Raj the Director of RDSWS & Youth by conducting various activities. These children were taken for exposure to Slum area, Shopping Centre, Chhattisgarh Science centre & New Raipur. All the children were very happy.

Availability of Drinking water facility by MLP

Earlier situation:
Kharri village, Gram Panchayat Beldih is situated in Malkhorda block of Jangiri-Champa district and around 15km distance from Malkhorda block.  There was the main problem of safe drinking; people were drinking water from open well which was contaminated and influencing water boning diseases, it was very unsafe for their health. It was very difficult work to take water from any villages. Unavailability of good /safe drinking water facility indicates that the under development of village.

Plan of action:

A MLP program conducted in khari village on 19th February 2015, through Gram Nirman Project of RDSWS, where the members of VDC, women SHGs, youth groups and other villagers participated. During micro plan there was prioritized for safe drinking water facility. They prepared micro plan on installation of overhead water tank for supplying drinking water. They set a goal to provide safe drinking water within 6 months; they work out deciding with the date, period, resources and responsible persons for fulfilling the micro plan. They prepared application and submitted to PHE department at Malkhorda block as well as pressurized them to take action. And then continued follow up time to time. As the result in the month of August (first week) the bore well was dug at khemda village which was 1.5km from khari village. Overhead water tank was constructed for channelizing water through pipelines installation from khemda village to khari village. In this way they arranged and success of getting safe drinking water facilities.

Construction of new WBM road through MLP

Earlier situation:
Satgarh village, Gram Panchayat Amridih is situated in Malkhorda block from distance around 18km. This village is not much developed. There was problem of Sanitation, Drinking water, Road and lack of implementation of MGNREGA work. The main problem was road, because maximum agriculture land was surrounding of Borai stream its covering nearby village. People cultivate various crops i.e. paddy, pulses, oil seed and vegetable nearby stream. Due to the black soil people are facing problem of transporting in rainy season, this mean (road is muddy) and summer season it’s full of dust. They are mainly depending on agriculture for which they have to face difficult to move regularly carrying the agriculture production.

Plan of action:
As the days went the MLP was conducted on 2nd March 2015 at Satgarh village Gram Panchayat Amridih through Gram Nirman Project of RDSWS. The members of VDC, women SHGs, youth groups and other villagers participated. Several problems were discussed and finally prioritize the problem of Road to reach their agriculture field. They decided to construct the WBM road to avoid such problem. They prepared and finalized micro plan to carry out the work within 6 months. They prepared & submitted application to MLA Mr. T. Keshav Chandra and narrated/described the details of problem faced by the village people. The MLA assured and instructed to public work department (PWD) to construct the road from Satgarh village to Borai stream (1km) and he allocated Rs. 10 Lakh (from MLA fund) for construction of work and some fund from PWD. After three months the work was started and successfully completed till 17th July 2015.

Current Situation:
This is the great achievement through Gram Nirman Project that runs by RDSWS Raipur, because people are aware of various inputs. The existing road connects from village to field areas. It’s easy to move to their agriculture field without any difficulties. The village people are very happy for their success and grateful to the organization.
